Here I go again…

It’s October 20th, 2014. On October 20th, 2013 I made a promise to myself that I would post something I wrote every single day until my birthday. A solid month of putting my writing out there, good or bad. I haven’t lived very long so my next line should be taken with a grain of salt, but that was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Granted, it was a somewhat stolen idea, and not every post was great, but it made me actually produce something every single day. It let me tap into something I didn’t even realize I really want to do with my life.
Now I’m sitting here, a full year later, and I’ve just set up a little desk that will actually be a somewhat permanent writing space. No more writing everything in my bed where I can potentially fall asleep in the process. Last month I dropped an amount of money that I’d rather not say aloud on getting my macbook back in working order. I told myself it was an investment in my future. I guess that could be taken as just an excuse to put something big on my credit card, but really, I don’t think it was.
You see, I actually do believe this is my future. Somehow, I’m going to turn writing for fun into writing for life. And now I’m all in.
Thanks to that one month of really grinding, and a whole lot of support from people who love me and people who’ve never even actually met me, I know that I want to make a life of this.
It’s going to be hard. It’s going to be frustrating. I’m going to have a hell of a lot to learn in order to get where I’d like to be, but I’m up for it.
And to celebrate that, I’m doing it again — 30 posts in 30 days.
Bear with me, and thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for reading whichever words you do.

  1. That’s the absolutely best news I’ve heard in a while. There are those of us, maybe not a large ggroups yet but growing, that read and enjoy your posts and wait anxiously for the next one. I know that sounds like a Dad boasting, but it’s not meant that way. It’s the truth.
